Dear Members, dear members, The APAD is a wonderful collective adventure, which relies on the voluntary commitment of its members and in particular of the members of the Office, whose regular individual and collective involvement is decisive. The next General Assembly of APAD will be an opportunity to renew the composition of the APAD Office. It includes a maximum of 17 members elected for 4 years. It is renewed by half at each General Assembly (which takes place every two years, during conferences). Would you like to get involved in our association? In that case, we invite you to submit your application by sending us a cover letter presenting yourself (professional and scientific background, discipline, current status, institutional affiliation, addresses) and explaining why you wish to join the association. These applications will be circulated to all APAD members before the GA so that they can vote with full knowledge of the facts. Applying for a position on the Office implies:
• being familiar with and sharing the objectives of APAD, namely the promotion of empirical research on issues of social change and development, exchanges between researchers from the Global South and the Global North working on these issues, and dialogue with stakeholders (administrations, non-governmental organizations, social movements, etc.)
• being ready to take responsibility for part of the Office’s activities and to actively contribute to the association’s dynamics
• participating regularly in Office meetings and its working groups (approximately one 2-hour meeting every month), so that strategic decisions can be taken in a spirit of collegiality ;
• and of course being up to date with your APAD membership fee.
